Egypt/ Net International Reserves August 2020 reading
Overall reserves up on a simultaneous increase in both headline and non-official figures: Egypt’s overall reserves (NIR + non-official reserves) grew by USD200mn by end of August 2020, as both official and non-official figures increased for the first time since the COVID-19 economic fallout hit the economy. The country’s NIR inched up by USD51mn, while non-official figures grew by USD149mn by the end of August 2020. Overall reserves stood at USD41.4bn by end of August, covering 7.9 months of merchandise imports.
