KEY THEMES
As the year draws to a close, investors’ eyes are set on the New Year with high hopes for a rebound off 2020 lows. But as we came to realize, not all stocks are created equal. Small caps have delivered an outstanding performance, led by a surge in retail trading activity that hit around 80% of total market trading. What has been lagging is large caps, which is understandable when both institutions’ and foreign investors’ participation in the market is at an abyss. That said, we will be publishing our annual outlook by mid-January 2021 after we process the full-year sector and stock performance then go back to our drawing board in an attempt to envisage what could lie ahead of the market in 2021.

MTIE, BINV: As a reminder, both MM Group [MTIE] and B Investments [BINV] stand to unlock some of their hidden value when their joint venture Ebtikar is floated in Q1 2021, if and when market conditions improve.
