Egyptian government to receive USD230mn from Japan

FX to be available in June
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) plans to inject the banking system with USD6bn from Ras El-Hekma proceeds. The CBE will contact the importers to apply for the Letter of Credit (LC) to receive FX starting in June to release the goods at customs. The government already released goods worth USD20bn from the country's ports since the start of 2024. (Enterprise)
