Earning Commentary on Alexandria Container & Cargo Handling – First Nine Months of 2025 [ALCN]
Alexandria Container & Cargo Handling reported a decline in its results for the first nine months of 2025, impacted by lower USD-denominated revenues and reduced storage income, despite a 3% increase in container throughput compared to the same period last year.
Revenue reached EGP 1.90 billion versus EGP 2.01 billion in the same period of 2024, a decrease of 6%.
Gross profit fell by 8% to EGP 1.46 billion compared to EGP 1.58 billion in the comparable period, while the gross margin stood at 76.8%, a slight decline of 2% from the same period last year, reflecting the company’s continued operational efficiency despite revenue pressures.
Net profit after tax decreased by 9% to EGP 1.74 billion, compared to EGP 1.91 billion in the prior year, due to lower USD-denominated revenues and reduced income from storage services.
On the balance sheet, working capital rose to EGP 9.9 billion (+21% from the previous quarter), and equity increased to EGP 12.6 billion, reflecting the company’s strong financial position and its ability to maintain a solid and stable capital base.
